Burrtec and the Town of Apple Valley want to increase your trash service by 6.4% this year and 4% every year through 2031. Doesn’t seem like a very big deal until you realize they hit you with a 25% increase just 4 years ago.

What you can do

Under Prop 218, the people have a chance (albeit small) to stop unfair price increases. It’s going to take nearly 14,000 letters of protest from current Burrtec customers to be submitted to the Town of Apple Valley by June 23, 2026, at 6:30pm. There is a template here that can be downloaded. You must be an apple valley resident with a Burrtec service in your name. Only one protest letter per service address. Download the template below and deliver to Town Hall.
